Everything DiSC Agile EQ combines the simplicity of DiSC with a in-depth emotional intelligence (EQ) training. EQ is the ability to change behavior to match any emotional and social situation. Agility is the ability to recognize the emotional and social needs of a situation and act accordingly. Compared to other EQ assessments, Agile EQ doesn’t just survey a person’s EQ. Agile EQ focuses on helping individuals understand which EQ behaviors they currently know and which they need to practice. DiSC EQ helps us understand ourselves and others

Improving emotional intelligence only happens when we become more self-aware and socially aware. The DiSC model offers an easy and rememberable way for us to understand ourselves and those around us.

Through DiSC, we learn our natural behaviors and why our co-workers, friends, and family behave the way they do.  Everyone has a specific DiSC style. This assessment asks about 90 questions to help understand your specific DiSC style. However, you can start to understand DiSC by answering two simple questions:

  1. Are you a risk-taker or enjoy moving at a quick pace? Or do you prefer to move at a steadier pace or prefer avoiding risks?
  2. Do you tend to focus on the current task, or do find yourself engaging more with others?

Depending on how you answer these two questions you can place yourself on the DiSC map.

As an example, if you enjoy moving at a quick pace, and finding yourself in new and unfamiliar situations, but you like to focus on working with people rather than spending time alone on a task, you would have an i-Style.

Once we learn our DiSC style, we can start to understand other DiSC styles and why our relationships might be strained because of behavioral differences. This self-awareness is crucial to begin to develop our Emotional Intelligence.

This understanding become a foundation for both deciphoring who we are and why others behave the way they do. Next we can start to learn about how to stretch towards different mindsets to match the situation that we are in.

After we use DiSC to become more self-aware, we can start to learn how to manage our emotions. Everything DiSC Agile EQ offers a tool called Mindsets to help us determine the appropriate response and identify what mindset we are currently using.

Mindsets are loosely affiliated with our DiSC Style of behavior.

As an example, a person with the i-Style might have indicated that it’s hard for them to remain objective. Their desire for maintaining relationships might cause them to be more trusting in situations when they should dig a little deeper into what someone is telling them.

 

Being more objective is a skill we can learn. It might take effort at first, but we can start by asking questions like ‘does this person have a bias in what they are telling me?’ or ‘did they use negative or positive viewpoints when presenting their view?’.

After a while, we can move into harder objective mindsets and learn to balance our emotions and logic in our decisions.

The report provides an action planning section so users are able to learn about themselves and then set goals for how they can improve their EQ by taking steps in practicing using more difficult mindsets.
